MGEP’s participation in the Basque Digital Innovation Hub

Eneko Unamuno (Researcher and Lecturer of partner MGEP) participated in a Deep Dive session organised by the Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH). The event took place at the installations of MGEP and Ikerlan in Arrasate-Mondragón (Spain) on the 10th of November of 2021.

The aim of this session was to show the assets that have made available for small and medium enterprises in the framework of the Digital Electric Grids node and to demonstrate potential applications by showing some experimental tests in person. In the case of MGEP, the tour included two technical presentations and a visit to the Medium Voltage Lab and to the Low-voltage DC Microgrid.

During the first presentation, researchers from MGEP highlighted some of the most relevant projects carried out in the Medium Voltage Lab. In the second presentation, Eneko Unamuno explained some of the challenges that we are facing in modern power systems, and he had the chance to mention the advances that are being made in current research projects such as the project iSTORMY.

The event was a good opportunity to meet researchers and industry partners working in the power system sector and in the development of digital tools to make these systems smarter.
