Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives


The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) is a key player in research, development and innovation in four main areas: defence and security, low carbon energies (nuclear and renewable energies), technological research for industry, fundamental research in the physical sciences and life sciences.

CEA in figures (2019): 9 research centres, 20 181 employees, 39 joint research units (UMR), 670 priority patents filed in 2019, 216 start-ups since 1972, 5 billion euros budget.

Liten institute is part of CEA Tech, the R&D wing of the CEA, and is a major European research institute and a driving force behind the development of the sustainable energy technologies of the future; with over 1000 scientists, technicians and support staff.

Role in the project
Witin iSTORMY, CEA is involved in: providing electro-thermals models for selected chemistries; supporting with designing battery stack and thermal management system; developing SoX algorithms; as well as participating in dissemination.
